I woke up this morning feeling comfortable in bed, not wanting to get out and start my routine as I valued comfort more than achieving things.
Then I tried to motivate myself to get out of bed by searching for more engaging reasons such as the need to help the family however that too did not generate a strong enough urge to get out of bed.
I pondered upon this. It’s not unfamiliar to me. I go for a week, motivated to stick to a plan (i’m up to version 10 of it) then I stall then we’re back to enjoying the comfortable lifestyle. Sometimes I beat myself up over it, sometimes I don’t.
So what do I do about this? I reflect back on the social media performance coaches who would probably say suck it up and keep on going. But then a new thought entered my mind, what if my mental workout needed a rest day or two, just like when going through a week of intense workout the body performs better after a rest.
Then how could I address my issue of getting bored of the old plan after a week? perhaps I review it once a week and allow less interesting things to drop off and replace them with more interesting alternatives.
